Senior Vice President, Core Merchant Verticals

Overview: The Senior Vice President, Core Merchant Verticals within North American Markets seeks to drive revenue and deepen relationships with the largest and most strategic merchants in the Travel, Fuel, Drug & Grocery, Retail and Eating Places verticals. Primary responsibilities include cross-selling products and solutions to achieve revenue goals, expanding digital product distribution, creating usage and preference for Mastercard, increasing engagement with merchant executives and merchant industry groups, and managing operational team supporting merchant needs. This role will be Purchase-based and will have management responsibilities for 20 staff members. Role: o Create and execute a strategy for revenue growth within each core merchant vertical o Lead the organization in developing compelling, vertical-specific value propositions to position Mastercard for continued revenue growth and share gains o Develop a strong business development culture o Drive incremental revenue to Mastercard by attracting disproportionate market share; develop new business opportunities through joint sales and cross-selling Mastercard products and services, especially Advisors products, ESS services, co-brand and Labs innovations o Provide strategic leadership to vertical leads and merchant account reps o Ensure that Mastercard is building strong partnerships with key merchant executives and merchant industry groups o Fully integrate on strategy with MA issuing teams, and across product teams o Proactively communicate standards, policies and compliance rules across teams o Partner with Executive Vice President to manage Merchant Investment Fund o Partner with IMK to manage merchants with global/multi-regional operations and business needs o Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for Core Merchant Verticals o Monitor measurable objectives that accurately reflect business unit performance o Identify and implement process & policy improvements that improve business metrics o Drive business case development & ROI analysis for new business unit investment o Define, communicate and demonstrate performance towards vision & goals o Serve as a change agent in developing/advancing Mastercard corporate culture and organizational effectiveness o Build, develop and lead a high performing team All About You: o Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills o Merchant industry knowledge, including first-hand experience o A high level of business acumen and thought leadership is required o Strong knowledge of how consumer behavior impacts merchants / acquirers P&L o Must encourage teamwork, integration & inclusion o Ability to lead and develop a team of industry professionals R-72523
