Senior Desktop Engineer

Overview:
Provides day-to-day technical software/hardware support; part of team responsible for the installation, maintenance and monitoring of VMware ESX, VMware View, server, storage, and Citrix infrastructure for headquarters and remote locations.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and administer VMware ESX and VMware View environment.
Maintain and administer Citrix farm.
Microsoft Windows Server OS and Back Office installation, configuration, administration and support, including 3rd party applications.
Provides day-to-day support of all server related issues on a global scale, maintaining SLA's for security and reliability. Provide solutions to enhance performance, layout and stability.
Assist in maintaining and administering SAN storage environment.
Patch management, deployment and vulnerability mitigation.
Administration of backups, recovery, and disaster recovery.
Troubleshoot and resolve server issues (software/hardware).
Provide technical support to Help Desk staff as needed.
Communicate across the IT organization.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in Information Technology Preferred
3-5 years' experience in the implementation and support of VMWare ESX environment
3-5 years' experience with Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server; knowledge of Linux would be a plus
Experience with Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 and greater
Experience with desktop virtualization technologies including Windows 2008R2 RDS and VMware View
Experience racking and building servers
Familiarity with SAN storage hardware, including Dell Compellent, EMC and Heritage.
Familiarity with networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, LDAP, NTP, etc.
VMWare VCP certification a plus
Microsoft MCP or MSCE certification a plus
Available for 24/7 rotating on-call support and ability to perform work on evenings and weekends
Occasional domestic or international travel
