Stash is looking for a Director of Legal, well versed in data protection and privacy issues, to join our small but growing legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel as the sole privacy and data security attorney, you will serve a critical role in helping Stash understand its privacy, data security and other related obligations and be a leader in driving practical, risk-based solutions to identify and manage legal and other risks associated with data. You will advise both the other legal team members as well as our cross-functional partners on existing and emerging privacy, data security, and other related laws and regulations. The right person will be an organized, self-starter who knows how to prioritize their day and build meaningful relationships across the organization quickly. Being our in-house subject matter expert and thought leader on domestic privacy laws and regulations (including GLBA, Regulation SP, COPPA, and state laws and regulations), as well as any similar applicable international laws and regulations. Advise on privacy by design initiatives and privacy governance and strategic decision-making around the protection of our customers' data. Work collaboratively with intra-team and cross-functional partners, including Product, Design, Engineering, DevSecOps, Marketing, Risk, Customer Experience, and Legal & Compliance, to develop creative solutions to complex challenges related to privacy, data security and data governance. Support Stash with regulatory responses related to privacy and data security. Work closely with other Stash partners to develop and improve policies, procedures, and trainings to facilitate Stash's compliance with ever-evolving privacy and data protection laws. Serving as the key point of contact for privacy- and data-related questions that arise in commercial negotiations and product and marketing initiatives. Represent the legal team in tabletop exercises and any data-related incidents. Lead Stash's efforts to maintain its consumer-facing and internal employee-facing Privacy Policies to reflect changes in regulatory requirements and Stash's privacy practices. Minimum of 8 years of experience as a practicing lawyer working on data protection and privacy issues, with at least 2 years as part of an in-house legal department, ideally on behalf of a financial technology company. Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
